One of a Kind Babcock Lippincott Box: signed and documented by Mel

This is a one of a kind Lippincott box from Mel Babcock.  He made is a heavier build to look like a mini chest.  He used heavier hardware.  The box is a right hander which means it open on a different side than 99 % of Mel’s other Lippincott boxes.  It is large enough to be considered a watch box. It is fully lined inside and comes with the key. the size is  3 1/8×2 5/8x 3.

When Mel built an item he considered very special he would sign the bottom instead of the usual hallmark imprint. This one is signed and the instructions notated as being a special  box built in 2021.  He also attached a signed note describing its unusual opening.  A Babcock treasure.  I just removed it from the shipping box to photograph.
