Kent Bergman’s The “Match” Box from his Zebra Wood Line: #23 of a limited edition: scarce

Description

Brief Explanation of the effect: A full size deck of cards is shown and a card is chosen and placed face down on the table.  The magician opens a small box on the table and in that box is a split tray  with a miniature deck of cards cut in half. The half’s are removed and shown to be all different half cards.

The magician discusses the card “shoes” that blackjack is dealt from in Vegas.  He explains this is a miniature card shoe and drops two cards into the box letting the spectator look into the box as the cards are then dumped out through a slit in the bottom of the box.

The spectator is then asked to shuffle both half of the mini cards and then place them into the little box. The lid is put on the box and the performer shakes the card box further mixing the cards.  He then tilts the box on its side and two cards come out face down.  The performer places the two half cards next to the original chosen card and proclaims a match! The two backs match perfectly!  NO that is not the effect he claims but in fact the two pieces will match the original selection exactly.  The audience chuckles as the two pieces when turned over don’t even match each other.  The spectator turns over his card to find his original selection does match the mini half’s  as the chosen card shows a different card on each half matching the mini split cards exactly!
