Vintage Nest of Boxes: unusual 7 box set! circa 1930

This was Doc Mossey’s (former IBM President).  He had over 50 sets of nest of boxes in his collection.   This was one of his favorite sets because of the beauty of the boxes and the unusual number of boxes it contained (7 box sets are a rarity).  I have kept it on display in my own collection since I acquired the Mossey Collection.   I have decided to let it go.

It was built by a craftsman.  The mahogany patina is outstanding.  One of the most  beautiful sets I have encountered. The fifth box is bottomless. the largest box is 8.75×8.5×8 inches.

The largest box has a very slight bow to the right front corner. I have tried to  photograph it. It does not affect the working or the locking of the boxes. I mention it to be fully accurate.

A lovely addition to the finest of collections and a focal point of Doc Mossey’s Nest of Boxes collection. Scarce.
